Explore this town on foot from our hotel
Listed among both the “Plus Beaux Villages de France” (France’s Most Beautiful Villages) and the “Petites Cités de Caractère” (Small Towns of Character), this unique Breton village scored an even greater victory in 2016, being named France’s favourite village! Without a doubt, it’s the best place you could have chosen to stay in the department of Morbihan, and we are pleased to welcome you!
Rochefort-en-Terre is also a top artist getaway. If painting is a favourite activity of yours, head to the manor house that the American painter Alfred Klots made famous. Prior to being a manor house, there were just the ruins of the castle built in the 12th century, which had been destroyed three times. The artist used the communal areas to transform it and now we can all enjoy the slice of whimsy that he brought to this lovely, flower-lined village. It is also worth noting that the village is completely pedestrianised in summer.
There are also plenty of unmissable places and guided tours. Journey far back in time at the Parc de la Préhistoire, where you can enjoy incredible dioramas of a time long gone by. You can also enjoy a two-hour marked hiking trail around Rochefort-en-Terre spanning 6 km.
